Major organizations and shelters
Pasadena Humane – PasadenaHumane.org / @pasadenahumane
Pasadena Humane has taken in hundreds of animals affected by the Eaton fire. They have no more capacity for material donations, but are in need of monetary donations.
Pet owners in need of supplies can come pick up items on Saturday, Jan. 11, from 9am-8pm at Pasadena City College, Lot 4, Level 1. An Instagram comment on their recent post said that you can also show up to volunteer on Saturday, especially between 5-8pm.
LA Animal Services – LAAnimalServices.com / @laanimalservices
Los Angeles Animal Services has issued an urgent plea for fosters and adopters to take pets from their crowded shelters. This will open space in their six shelters for displaced animals and pets. You can sign up to foster or adopt for free — the adoption fee has been waived through January 12th.
LA Animal Services is also accepting monetary donations.
spcaLA – spcaLA.com / @spcala
spcaLA is accepting material donations of pet food, blankets, towels, single-serving cream cheese, string cheese, beef hot dogs, and more.
You can also sign up to volunteer or donate money.
Los Angeles County Animal Care – AnimalCare.LACounty.gov / @lacoanimals
LA County Animal Care is operating DACC-staffed shelters for large and small animals.
They have centers located in Agoura, Baldwin Park, Carson/Gardena, Castaic, Downey, Lancaster, and Palmdale.
They have waived all fees for local rescues and adoption partners to pull animals from their shelters, and adoption fees for the general public.
If you’re interested in volunteering, do not show up in person. Email volunteer@animalcare.lacounty.gov for information.
Best Friends Animal Society – BestFriends.org / @bfas_la
Best Friends has an emergency response team on the ground assisting other animal welfare organizations.
They have opened two pet pantries in Sawtelle and Granada Hills where people can pick up pet supplies.
They have requested donations of large airline crates to help transport dogs to their shelter in Utah. They also have a wishlist on their website with needed items that you can order and send to them.
