June 6-June 8 edition of Planning your Weekend
The weather is perfect. No wonder we live in Sonoma County. And all the beauty in our county won’t be enough, if we don’t have a country we can take pride in. Pride month. Show your colors.
Resistance Summer is full on now. Lots to do, and you all know the reasons we have to resist.
Before you head out looking for shade, look for the best protests in your area. For things you can do inside, by yourself or with others (phone calls, post cards) check out our calendar. See the link below.

Protest Avelo Airlines' Plan to Carry Out Deportation Flights - ONGOING
Sun, Jun 8, 2025 11:00am - 1:00pm | US/Pacific
Avelo Airlines has accepted a $150 million contract to operate deportation flights, aiding in the illegal removal of individuals without their right to a fair hearing or due process. This is not only inhumane but a direct violation of our Constitution.
We’re calling for a full boycott of Avelo Airlines and organizing weekly protests at our local airport.
We will be on the sidewalk leading to the Charles M. Schulz Sonoma County Airport, which is currently a hub for Avelo's flights. At a time when a maximum number of travelers will see our protest, it is also a good opportunity to protest federal layoffs with the FAA.
You can park nearby or take SMART to get there. No parking on private property, please.

One Week To Go! Have You Made Your Plans? Sign up today for June 14!
This is a national day of action. Multiple organizations are declaring that this day must not honor the clowns in DC. Join us as we loudly say there are no kings in our country — and we don’t want their clowns, either!
In Santa Rosa, let’s put all our clowning around on the streets, instead. Bring your brightest signs. Wear your clown wig and red nose! Our task is to remind all the people driving by that our government is a farce — and we should take that seriously.
In Santa Rosa - 11a to 1p along Farmer’s Lane. Here’s a color-coded map of where we will be. Most of us will be standing where the map is marked in red. We’ve set aside part of the area (marked in green!) for VETERANS and others who want to stand with the veterans. Look for the greeters (wearing tall hats) and the peace keepers who will help you get where you want to be.
